Last updated: July 4, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how The Blockchain Academy (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use The Certification Lab (the “Platform”).

1. Information We Collect

Account information

When you register, we collect your name, email address, and authentication credentials. If you sign in with a third-party identity provider, we receive the profile information that provider shares.

Learning activity

We record your progress, simulator sessions, decisions, scores, certificates, and related interactions with the Platform so we can deliver the service and track your certification progress.

Technical data

We automatically collect log data such as IP address, browser type, device identifiers, pages viewed, and timestamps.

2. How We Use Information

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Platform and its simulators.
  • Track certification progress and issue certificates.
  • Communicate about your account, updates, and educational content.
  • Detect, prevent, and respond to security incidents and abuse.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

3. Legal Bases

Where applicable law (such as GDPR) requires a legal basis, we rely on contract performance, our legitimate interests in operating and improving the Platform, your consent (where required), and compliance with legal obligations.

4. Sharing

We share information with service providers who help operate the Platform (hosting, authentication, analytics, email delivery) under confidentiality obligations. We may disclose information when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a corporate transaction. We do not sell personal information.

5. Cohorts and Instructors

If you join a cohort, your instructor and cohort administrators can see your enrollment, progress, and scores within that cohort. Do not enroll if you do not want this information shared with those parties.

6. Retention

We retain personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Platform, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.

7. Security

We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. No system is perfectly secure; you use the Platform at your own risk.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict processing of your personal information, and to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact privacy@thecertificationlab.com.

9. International Transfers

We may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.

10. Children

The Platform is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

11. Changes

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on the Platform.
